My Hearts Three Hour Delay

Tonight, after the rain stops falling on streets
steaming from the day's warmth,
I'll walk outside and maybe
splash in the puddles that mirror
the incandescence of the full moon.

Knowing that this same luminous circle
also shines down on you
brings a tight smile to my face,
for as the moon reflects the sun, so, too,
does it reflect the love in my eyes for you
as I give it a gaze on this post-stormy night.
