Well, I haven't made any journal entries lately. I've been living in Thailand and teaching English at a university.
A couple weeks ago, I went to a nearby coastal town and slept with a couple of whores. The first one was very pretty, only the second extremely attractive girl I've ever been with; The sex didn't do much for me because of the wall of latex.Earlier, I met her 5 year old daughter, who tried to caress me as she's seen the women doing to customers. I sent her off with some ice cream money- which probably amounts to neutral karma.
Another night, I drank too much and tried to convince a beautiful girl I was dancing with to marry me. Because I was obviously drunk, she slipped off on her motorcycle. I stormed off on the streets, determined to find a wife but instead found one of the many packs of wild dogs, who chased me to a house, where they put me up in their guest-house. In the morning, the man took me all the way home on his motorcycle and wouldn't take any money. This was genuine kindness and gives me hope in the future of our species.
The issues that interest me these days are environmental. We are at a stage in the development of civilization where we must either change our behavior or perish. The numerous life-forms which have peopled the earth are giving way to concrete and neon-lights, so bright and so dull. I've been able to do very little for the environmental cause. Also, I'm not sure it would benefit from association with me.
Also, I enjoy watching the geckos, which populate the walls and ceilings of Thailand, as well as Hawaii, where I vacationed as a teenager. In a way, they fascinate me now because they fascinated me then, when I was so privilleged and naive. Also, they seem the ideal teacher for our species. Where humans move very fast, geckos move very slowly, darting quickly only to catch mosquitoes. Also, they are vastly superior to us in their ability to walk on the ceiling, which they do with a bizzare pivotal motion.
