On Soul
P K Routray
My hand, my eye, my ear,
my hair my nail and my finger,
my head, my heart and my knee
they may be mine but not me.
My limbs you see, my traits you feel
but to none its identity, my soul does reveal.
Its volume, size, and shape are beyond comprehension
only gospels, faith, superstitions give it some dimension.
Some say souls as invisible spirit,
good or bad after death to Him they sprint.
Good He keeps, bad he drives away
till the second coming, away bad have to stay
in pain and torture, may be with devil
this is the after math of the souls, good or evil.
On the fate of souls after death, thus some belief sums
that souls have to wait in graves till a qayamant comes
to meet Him and get His judgment and consequential life again
till then as per deeds they live in the grave with pleasure or pain.
Some preach that the soul is immortal and is a part of super soul
with good deeds, life after life it merges with Him as its ultimate goal
till then it gets birth and rebirth, decay and demise
until it earns befitting deeds under many a role and guise.
