The Bag Of Brown Paper

The bag of brown paper,
a vagabond, blows.
It whirls and it capers
on corners like toes.

 

It flaps like a flag does
or, flat out, it glides.
It leaps about lamp posts
or spins on its side.

 

It flips like a pancake;
it flutters and floats;
it sails on the wind like
a brown paper boat.

 

Or bowing politely;
a prince at a ball,
performs dances, sprightly
with leaves of the Fall
