Bedtime Prayer For Readers and Writers

If reading is work which we've already establishedI then I do my best work in bed.
In this regard I am similar to Luis Albert Urrea, the author of the novel 'The House of Broken Angels'. In the March 11th Book Review section of the New York Times Urrea states "I read most often in bed as a part of my attempted sleep ritual. My eyes are a constant struggle for me- bad vision getting worse. So the act of reading grows more difficult, yet more precious. I think it is becoming part of my devotios. I often tell students that writing is prayer-well ditto reading."
So, not only does reading and writing count as work, they also count as spiritual exercise.
As I write this, I am praying that someone will read it. If you are reading this (which you must be) my prayers are coming through. I pray that in some way this little bit of writing that I'm doing and the little bit of reading that you're doing will somehow prove to be a benefit in your life just like when I read the above paragraph from Urrea and became inspired to write a prayer for all of us.
When I read, I'm saying a prayer for the writer of whatever I'm reading. I'm praying that what Luis is saying will benefit me which will in turn benefit you as you read what I'm writing about his writing.
With every prayer that I send to Luis, I am joining his congregation of followers. We through Luis are all praying for each other and the more we pray for Luis, the greater power he has which we pray will be for the good of the world.
When Luis was a boy, he prayed to/for Ray Bradbury. Bradbury taught him to "reread stuff as often as I wanted. Double yor pleasure double your fun. I felt that all would be revealed in his stories."
This is indeed why we pray. We pray for revealation and our most widely read authors reveal the power of their prayers in relationship to the amount of readers who pray to/for them by reading what they wrote.
I have my fan for whom I pray regularly.
And now YOU
I hope this helps.
I hope this helps.
You just read 'I hope this helps' twice
Expect revealation.
Pray for me
Amen
