[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

cf Psalm 6

Conscious of his sin, confession
of his wrong to God and man,
grief and sadness, heart contrition,
asking mercy yet again.

Do we see, our failures hating,
viewing sin as God would judge?
Do we really grieve, repenting,
or our guilt gloss over, fudge?

Languishing and troubled, aching –
cannot for my sins atone:
ground of hope is real – no faking –
I trust Jesus – guilt is gone!

Myself I don't think too much on sin and the Devil and Hell and all that. I mean after all, I have been saved and I wont be perfect ever in this life. To hammer on sin all the time for me would be ungrateful I think.

Rather think on the fruits of the spirit, love, mercy joy faith hope kindness happiness, all that is beautiful, that is holy … all pure all that is godly,

As for inferno and eternal damnation I don't believe it it doesn't make sense at all, why create someone you know you will eventually torture forever in a Hell's fire doesn't make sense sorry. That's not love.

Making myself very unpopular, why would I wonder?

And in fact there's not even enough evidence in the Bible just a handful verses. Go and count them. I did. There are more than four times mention of “heaven” than “hell” (counting synonyms). And in context mostly not your same story, and not clear at all. I would rather just sleep.

And for ever as eternity, who does not want eternal peace and happiness! Nature and paradise. And as for God's existence, it is self-evident and heaven sounds like, well, Heaven!

You touch on a number of different points, Tom. 
Of course we don't want to think too much about sin and the Devil and Hell. But many don't want to think about them at all, and if so there is no encouragement to reach out for salvation. And although we won't be perfect in this life, we should want to grow more like Jesus with the help of his Spirit if we have accepted him, and his Word can help us in that.

God created manikind holy. He sent Jesus because we'd all earned punishment. If many don't receive him, you can't blame him.
