The beginnings of travelling....

Can't believe that it is a year ago that I had booked my flights and was working 40 hours a week to save before leaving in January. Saving was the hardest task!! Seeing a sum of three digits in my bank account and avoiding a shopping spree with friends going to uni was near impossible.
October 11th 2010 was a very special day, the day that I bought my rucksack. My whole life was going to be squished and carried on my back so it had to be perfect. Just so happened there was sale in Mountain Warehouse and got a half decent one for £50. Always look out for end of season sales, that extra saving I appreciated when watching fellow travellers surving on super noodles!
Next thing I knew it was December and my departure was around the corner, good job it was Christmas before hand so I made a long christmas list of travel essentials. Can't say it was the most exciting christmas unwrapping bottles of suncream and insect repellent but what good would a new dress from topshop have been!?
Re-writing my diary takes me through all of the experiences I have had and makes me appreciate them even more!
