Something of Nothing

Why do we always make something of nothing,
When there's nothing to make something of?
If there was something then at least that'd be something,
But some how we make nothing of that.

If there was nothing,
We'd all want something,
Even if we didn't know what.
Those who have something,
Often don't know it,
And think they have nothing instead.

For those who have nothing,
Anything is something,
And any less is no less at all.

If you make nothing of something,
You're missing the point,
And really have nothing instead.

But if you make something of nothing,
At least you have something.

If others make nothing of your something,
They have less than you,
And indeed if they had something,
They'd have nothing, compared to you.
