Star-Crossed Lovers

My body stirs, my eyes flutter,
The Friar fearfully mutters.
From an oblivion of sleep
I wake, but understanding creeps.
The Friar speaks of nuns and death
And all does leave me but one breath.
He hurries forth out of the tomb,
Fate on frayed wings will arrive soon.
For eternity I could wait
But he has rose to the golden gate,
How can I live a silenced nun?
Bound in blood red love, the wounded one?
But a few moon turns ago, we
Stood before God, humble with need
Proclaimed our love and made our vows,
As close as cherries in the bough.
He lies here now, burned with poison.
No kind drop for me in his kiss
To join him in his sweet abyss.
O happy dagger, fate flies low,
Soon I will be with Sweet Romeo.
