The Tune of a City
By Adele Belle
- 922 reads
Nothing can compare to its essence,
The sheer delight and desire of its world.
In the middle of the poisoned planet,
Lies its one fine pearl.
Gleaming cobbles pave my path,
As the sky opens blue beyond the trees.
I’m here at last by its beating heart,
The river sings its memories.
The metal structure stands superior,
At the core of the city’s glowing spirit.
Lights sparkle like magic now
As the night envelopes, bit by bit.
This place is a cherished canvas
Like the paintings which frame every street.
Musical accents resemble a song
As the singers lounge in everlasting heat.
Noise of laughter and joy
Fills the wine-tainted air,
At this spectacle one cannot help
But to stop and take time to stare.
These are my thoughts and mine alone.
Nothing can take that away from me.
This is my tune, my melody,
This is my joy, my Paris.
