How Rhona became a toothfairy

Most people think , that toothfairies are born into the job. This is
definitely not the case.

Rhone started life many, many years ago when things were a lot less
complicated and nobody had
to lock their doors at night, everybody had lots of cash and everything
was generally groovy.

Rhona lived in a small town up north, which nowadays is called
Rotherham and she worked an old fashioned dental hygienist. She wasn't
the nasty kind who make little boys and girls cry,
but the nice kind who cleans your mouth with strawberry toothpaste and
gives you a sticker afterward.
Rhona loved teeth and because she was always smiling and always happy
she was ALWAYS very busy. In fact, rhona was so popular that people
used to come from all over the
world to sit for hours on end in her waiting room. Fishermen from
France, Mechanics from Manchester, librarians
from London and even plumbers from Poland all used to come and have
Rhona gawp at their gob.
Eventually, word of rhona from Rotherham the happy hygienist arrived at
the house of a very powerful magician who lived far, far away in a dark
wood in china. This magician was a very kind magician and used his
powers for all things good like giving birds beautiful singing voices
and bears a nice dreams while they hybernate. On long summer days He'd
wonder his wood, keep himself to himself and cook lasagne for
visitors.

The magician's name was Lionel
.
One of Lionel's favourite hobbies, aside from playing his x-box and
nightclubbing was to wonder around the world rewarding people who were
really good at their jobs. He gave most people superclever magical
gifts and others a holiday in the sun so that they would become even
better at their jobs( if that were possible). Now whilst lionel was in
Rhona's neighbourhood giving a supernukem pizza oven to Alfonso the
pizza chef, he decided to
drop in on rhona and see for himself what all the furor and fuss was
about. So one fine summer morning when all the boys' girls were at
school, all the employed people were at work and everyone else was
watching Tricia, Lionel opened the door to rhonas bright clean, nicely
smelly waiting room.
Whenever lionel went to see people who were especially fantastic at
working hard and being successful, he would often go disguised as
someone really thick. Now this might sound like
a mean thing to do but lionel wasn't mean-he was expertly clever.
Lionel hated giving cool presents to people who weren't very nice so if
the people who were really brill at their work laughed at him or called
him names, he would go on his way and these people would never know
they had been visited by Lionel the magnificently powerful, Lionel the
terrifically nice and lionel the famously generous magician.
Lionel sat in rhonas really comfy dentist chair and held his head back
and opened his mouth wide. After a little of gentle brushing some of
Lionels teeth came out&;#8230;&;#8230;Rhona was
horrified! Picking them up began to cry. Rhona was convinced she had
upset her first patient.
" I'm sorry she sobbed&;#8230;.your teeth are so clean I can't
understand how they fell out&;#8230;."
But instead of being angry Lionel laughed with glee and danced around
like acrobat
"Don't be upset he said." I had to test you" you could have told me
that I never look after my teeth, but you accepted responsibility and
was prepared for the consequences." But because this was the first time
rhona had been unhappy, Lionel decided to give an extra
special gift.

" If you could do anything in the world to make people happier what
would you do? " Rhona knew the answer straight away and with a beaming
smile, she told him. "I'd give old people their teeth back so they
could look after them all over again&;#8230;&;#8230;.. or give
teeth to people have had accidents or had their teeth fall
out&;#8230;&;#8230;.." and with out a word Lionel opened his bag
and pulled out a beautiful ball gown with sequins and pearls and loads
of diamonds. (He'd borrowed it off Cinderella but she didn't want
it
back) then handed it to Rhona ."Here" he said mysteriously, "put it on
". In seconds, Rhona dashed behind the blind and came out looking every
inch a a beautiful fairytale princess in her
wonderful new frock.
"It's wonderful she exclaimed I feel like a princess"
"not a princess" said Lionel, even more mysteriously "A toothfairy."
Rhona was stunned
"From now on, you will go around the world taking little children's
teeth from under pillows and replace
them with coins&;#8230;..you will never be discovered and you will
never run out of coins&;#8230;.you will make new teeth to for anyone
who needs them and most of all you will never grow old. You will stay
young and happy and just as beautiful as you are now." And with that he
waved his wand and Rhona flew
away laughing with delight and singing a song of rapturous joy never to
be seen by normal people again.
And so ends the tale on how Rhona became the fist modern
toothfairy.
