Omar's Diary - Weekend of 10th & 11th January 2015

Normally on Saturdays the senior man servant comes over and stays with us for the day. This weekend there was a change in the routine. He did not come over and nor did I see the blue bag come in which is a sure indicator the servants are not going away. I like routine and I am concerned at this change.
Man and lady servant busied themselves around the house on Saturday. Clearing out cupboards, throwing stuff away or placing it in big plastic bags declaring 'those are ready for the charity shop. I also saw that they made up the beds in the spare room which they used over Christmas when senior man servant stayed with us. Perhaps he is going to stay again? No one tells me anyThing these days.
On Sunday I found out what was happening. The blue bag did not come in. Great, they are not going away. Instead, two smaller bags appeared. Boooh, hiss! They are going away! Any worries I had about my care were alMost immediately ameliorated when senior man servant arrived with his small suitcase. A sure sign he is staying for a while.
Great! I was going to have constant company while the servants were away.
Man servant's mood was given a lift at about three thirty on Saturday afternoon. He had selected two horses running somewhere sin the UK to do with a fantasy racing game he is involved in. I wonder what other fantasies he has? I know most of mine involve kibble. Sorry, I digressed there. His two selections came first and second so he was very pleased. This meant that he may no longer be in last place. Sadly, it appears that everyone else in the league seems to have chosen the same two horses so he is still languishing in last place. It is a bit embarrassing for him as he is meant to be an expert on matters of the turf. He was reminded of this quite vehemently on Sunday at the stables by someone who is not even in the league.
Sod's law I assume if it is related to the turf.
His spirits were lifts on Sunday evening when he saw that his favourite football club, Arsenal, had won their premiership match convincingly. He is a bit of a closet fan of the team as he is reluctant to declare support openly for any football team in light of his diminished ability to successfully select racehorses.

It's amazing what cats can
It's amazing what cats can absorb, mine makes out that he's too superior to be bothered with human interests, but he's probably taking it all in.
