You can press an iron against my heart
but it doesn't make it flat. You can tell
me that my love is lesser than your love,
but I have to remind you that, within days,
Romeo and Juliet had their first kiss, got married
and died as a consequence of strong emotion.
You believe in that
but you tell me that my love
is a sin? What makes sense of it?
Boys love boys.
Girls love girls.
Get over it.
You get to have a hand to hold,
and you get to get married in front
of your god - so why should we not?
Love is supposed to be celebrated,
and if your god is telling you not to judge,
then why don't you listen?
How am I sinner?
How are you not?

i love this poem - I'd (mayb)cut 'fucking' because your logic seems more powerful without it. Best your readers are felled by your logic, than get in a huff for a 'rude' word. This is a poem for many people, well done.(for when we were attacked, stoned with beer cans for a kiss on the cheek on a sunny day, and for the loser who shot me from his apartment window ffs! Thanks)
