QUITE ENOUGH OF QUITE

I said "I think I love you."
You responded, "Quite",
To save my ears from hearing,
Something impolite.
What quite really represents,
I am not quite sure.
Does it mean nothing at all,
Or that you are bored?
I'd like something more than 'quite',
For quite is quite bland.
It contains as much substance,
As one grain of sand.
Quite is not really any good.
Quite is never quite enough.
Quite doesn't keep me hanging on,
To search for meaningful stuff.
So don't go giving me your "quite",
If it means nothing as such.
I have had quite enough of "quite",
Thank you very bloody much.
