Linguistic Conspiracies, The Series by J.B. Pravda
Bemusedly referred to as the "Sloppy Sister" campaign, the feisty cabal
had counted upon popular ignorance and studies confirming that the man
on the street, regardless of education, it seemed, simply ignored words
that didn't sound good or were hard to spell. Hence, solipsism, a quite
noble word for an equally sophisiticated worldview, was coined.
This may, finally, explain German.
