Selfish people think I am

Others think we are

The bigots snarl – they are

I think we are

But I

Betrayed the us

In me

When I singled out

And labelled

The selfish

And the bigots

And so it is

When we embrace values

That we become

Bigots

Hiding under

The veneer of language.
