Haven't you heard?
The war of "kernels are o'er"!
Between the fishes and the sea ---
Twilight shone the victor's plea.
But there flies feast the dead;
And the girls mourn their lover.
Haven't you heard?
The bitin' plague sleeps!
Locusts; pests keel over.
At arm's length they hover.
Home an' away.
Now, the dead are hungrier.
Haven't you heard?
They beg no more!
Their shadows were there;
Their warmth leaving...
Rodents cry out.
The skies are dark no more.
Haven't you heard?
The kings are whisperin'.
The heart remains as calm,
Peasants ready their tables.
Gather, they devour.
Truths, lies and soul.
And now you've heard ---
So, now you know...
