A Gothic Romance

He takes off his gloves.
His long coat swirls as he turns to face her.
Her hair shines in the soft candlelight
And his angular features are lit up
Momentarily
By the lightning outside.
His dark eyes suggest a multitude of sins
Delicious and tempting.
He slowly walks towards her...
Pure white and pagan black,
Their clothes meet as he runs a finger
Down her arm.
The rose petals swept off the table
Float slowly to the floor.
She knows she cannot resist
She is lost.
Black rose petals burn in the heat of their Embrace.
She wishes to burn in his arms.
They are lost together
Swirling through the dark currents
Until the final candles go out.
The lights go out...one...by one...
