The Forest

The forest seems much darker, the trees are old and thin
I'd dying to get out of here, but know I am trapped in
Someone trails behind me, I hear him late at night
I know I should feel frightened, yes I know I should feel fright
But right now I feel excited, all his attention is on me
And as the bark dies underfoot, I find myself so free
To his lustful gaze and icy touch
I never knew I'd love so much
The shadows stalk me, as does he
A bitter, twisted symphony
Our love is stronger than the years
Smiles are born straight from the tears
The forest corners me, wishful thinking
Loveless lifes and eyeballs sinking
Kiss me now, you mysterious man
Pull me closer, hold my hand
And then we'll escape this nightmare hall
We'll dance to the sounds of this enchanted ball
No longer will you have to trail behind
You'll be my picture, thought of mind
The shadows stalk me, as does he
A bitter, twisted symphony
Our love is stronger than the years
Smiles are born straight from the tears
It never occured to me that you may intend
To bring to my breathing a swift, slicing end
And so when the knife-blade cut holes in the sky
All I could do is stand there, then die
Gullible is like a second name to me
One day I'll learn to run, to see
That not all strangers love your face
Some of them wish to erase your space
