Free Spirit, Chained Soul

Some spirits are born free,
not bound by land or sea,
with crazy passion thoughts
swirling around in their heads,
they create the world's dread.
These spirits are precious and rare.
Most of the world wouldn't dare
too chance living as they do.
Free spirits are light but strong,
sometimes right, sometimes wrong.

Other souls are born chained
with all emotion tightly reigned.
They are alike, none too different,
mass produced to be proper and cold
where anything can be bought and sold.
Chained souls are tangled in fear,
they can't breathe or think clear.
They choke on themselves,
refusing to digest any new idea
and pretending to care.

The free spirit has beautiful dreams,
but can't hear the world's screams.
Some spirits get caught up in ideals.
Chained souls have common sence,
Ensuring our survival forever hence.
The free spirit and the chained soul live
each having something vital to give.
The free spirit lends ideas of the future
and the chained soul offers virtues of the past.
Without either the world wouldn't last.
