I wandered lonely as a brick;
five foot tall and three feet thick.
Wondering if a place there be -
for other odd shaped bricks like me.
A wall, a house, a club, a home,
a place for one of different stone.
A place for bricks of different hue,
oddly shaped, of differing view.
A place where others, odd like me,
can find a spot to rest and be.
Free to be different, free to sit,
without the need to be a perfect fit.
Have I found my spot at last?
I've thought I'd found it in the past.
But though in the end I didn't fit,
at least I'd chance to rest a bit.
Perhaps if I could find a church,
it would not leave me in the lurch
It's not just the shape or size you see,
I want to find some bricks like me.
