THE LAST SNOW OF DECEMBER
The church is in disrepair
A faith lay in ruin there
The distant wing
of a holy song
it rejoices the birth
of a man long gone
A family gathering of joy and cheer
but all the trees have fallen here
From the sky the bitter seed fell
and destruction rode it's wings to hell
It boiled the eyes of hope and peace
and bubbled marrow from the bone
sealed together the hands of prayer
then it stripped them bare.
That's all we remember
the last snow of December.
