Life Like Summer

Dew frosting each blade of grass
Birds singing of every class
Each flower open to our source of light
Sun brings out our shadows
nothing evil out of sight
Life just like summer
Would happy endings bring
Gentle, loving,
This life would be inspiring
Even rains and storms seem peaceful
We know the earth needs her lemonade
And summer winds take our breath
Instead of bombs and guns
Bodies strewn across the field, lay not there in death
But for sake of pure existence and innocent playful fun
Life just like summer
Would never happen here
This world drives forth with anger
Which is fueled by our fear
Our fear because we do not take the time
To learn our neighbours name
Our fear because we categorize
Our opinions and our blame
If we each put down our swords
Calmly, with no restraint
If we each just learned one new thing
Just one meaning
This fear is would slowly fade away
And life just like summer
Would be ours, everyday.
