(Speed poem)
Listen.
Listen to the crunch if bread eaten
And of water slurped.
Listen to the meeting of lips
And the parting of friends.
Listen to the tap of every finger,
The beat of every heart,
The intake of each breath,
The blink of every eye.
Listen to this, and nothing more,
For else is an echo,
Distorted by the bare, cold walls.
