love is not blind

The depth of love, that is deeper than an ocean
Is lost somewhere in the shallow thoughts of people
Love is all around but with so much hate love has to sneak around
To this people say, “you never see love coming.”

The unconditional love of a mother and concern of a father
Ends everyday with the desire and craving of a child
Love then becomes helpless and has no hope of survival
To this peoples say, “you never know when love happens.”

The strength of man and innocence of a woman
Dies every minute with ego and selfishness
Love is the given a name of injustice
To this people say, “everything is fair in love and war”

This beauty named nature, is treated with such disgrace
That we have forced love to hide its face,
And now all we hear people say is that love is blind
But I feel like love has chosen to be blind
Love wishes to see only beauty
But would prefer to be blind than to see
All this ugliness we have put around
