Midnight Demon

The rage is a fire that scorches the soul
With the red hot flames of revulsion
Sending out tendrils of mind numbing dread
That anger becomes a compulsion
Burning the dissidents who stand before hell
Refusing to see the world sinking
Blighted by scorn on a razor edged tongue
Confusion reigns; the masses are thinking
Their empty thoughts in hollow heads
The epiphany is so slow in coming
The rain has fallen and the party is over
A heartbeat of loss is heard drumming
Sending a beacon to all midnight demons
And still the hatred is burning so bright
A blue flame of loathing, flashing white sparks
Consuming the soul and destroying the light
A burned out body of nobody new
This process has happened before
Changing and spreading, a gelatinous mass
Forming the dark side of man's evil whore.
