This Miscarriage
Life has been withdrawn
Promise given, then taken away,
Cruel the snatching
Nipped in the bud, they might say.
So many just thrown away, sobbed away,
Inconvenience, wished away, pulled away
And here I stand shivering in my pyjamas
Fleeting child has flown up and bled away.
Sleeping I hear their screams
A room full of young with no mothers.
Some were wanted now all are equal
All orphans wrenching the loss.
If I could have stopped the flow
From which he set sail
I'd have laid down his anchor
Now he's gone it's too late.
