The Moon

I leave you sleeping and go to the window.
From here I can see the full moon
I crave the roundness of it,
I want to know all the shadows and lights on its surface
Knowing I never will
While the light from the orb falls on your face,
Showing the roundness of your lips and the clefts in your cheek,
The thousand words inside you staying unsaid
These things I know well but choose to ignore
Haunted instead by that cold face in the sky
