Mother Love.
You were born in the Springtime,
We both cried with joy,
At our beautiful fair-skinned baby boy.
We stayed right beside you
Throughout the years
Sharing your triumphs
And wiping your tears.
I stood by the school-gate
And watched you walk in,
Choked with emotion
I managed a grin.
Your schooldays passed quickly,
You made lots of chums.
The house always echoed
With laughter and fun.
You needed to travel
To get right away.
"To sort out your life,"
you told me one day.
Your new life's beginning.
You've made a new start.
With music and poetry
Playing a big part.
I was close to my father,
He lived life to thfull.
His music and writing
He passed on to you.
You are so much like him
The way that you smile.
His death made me angry
Was his life worthwhile.
You no longer need me
You've broken the chain.
Your feelings kept hidden
But I see through your pain.
There's no need to feel lonely,
As you so often do.
You're soul-mate is waiting
Alone, just like you.
