My Imagination Running Wild

One night I couldn't get to sleep,
So I decided to count some sheep.
They jumped the fence nicely, at first,
Then they came in a sudden burst.
They were followed by a cat and dog,
And straight behind a bat and frog.
Next came a horse followed by...
A cow which jumped high in the sky,
I watched it fly over the moon,
Back down on earth came a bowl and a spoon.
The cow landed on the muddy track,
And from behind it came a "quack"!
A duck and her chicks waddled along,
And as they jumped they sang a song.
It all became far too bizarre,
For chugging behind was a little car.
It seemed better when there came a mouse,
But I got annoyed when I saw a house,
Skipping down the farmyard lane,
And then the garage did the same!
The excitement became very immense,
For soon the whole world was over her fence.
On the other side there was a huge heap,
And all so that I could get to sleep!
