Maybe I should have written this before,
Then at least you would know the score,
But every time I wanted to,
I figured you'd surely know what to do,
Now I know I have to tell you,
'Cos you really seem to have no clue,

You really don't know what I expect of you,
And this sometimes fills me with gloom,
Is it so hard to be a boy friend?
After all you've always been a friend,
It's just a step beyond that,
And I am sure there is no magic to it,

What's so difficult about being responsible?
Considerate and a bit romantic too,
I'm not saying you're not all these and more,
But a bit more often will not be such a bore,
You should know by now I don't like waiting,
When you say see you tomorrow,
Amazingly I expect it to be so,

You don't understand why I get upset,
You seem to think it's some great test,
I always try to start as I mean to go on,
It does not have to be too hard for you,
To do what you have to do,
Without me having to tell you,

Don't behave as if this your first relationship,
Cos I know its not,
Not that I always want you here,
Of course you need your space,
Hanging out with your friends to save face,
I just think I need time with you too,

Anyway I've thought long &; hard,
And the answer is quite sad,
I'll have to take you as a learner,
And unfortunately I'll have to be the teacher,
So come with me my one and only student, come,
Schools in; (well at least till summer),

I'll have to be patient, tolerant &; mature,
And slowly I shall show you the way,
A lady wants to be treated,
By the time I am done,
You'll be every woman's dream
And then I'll have to watch you like a hawk

So you don't take my lessons and run
Straight into the arms of another woman.
