The Pallbearer

I am an agent of death,
One of many who will carry you on our shoulders,
Bearing you with solemnity from our world to the next.
My shoulder will be among the last you will feel
Before the omnipotent touch of our Lord,
And I will be among the last of this earth
To bid you good-bye.
