In the park

In the park
I faced the music of the spheres
And with muses on my shoulders,
Bent my ears, down
To hear the sweet sound
I'd found hiding in the ground
There I watched the winter give way
The earth fall away
And the day fray into dark
Along a golden blade
Where evening played
Alone I walked beyond the world,
Through its bones above
A matt of curling leaves
Walking beneath, I saw
The scrolling sky unfurled
I found secrets in that sky
There in purple majesty,
A trajectory of dying sun
And new born moon,
As I saw a silver bird, swoon
Cut up their flight with cotton wool
I looked up and gleaned
All meaning etched unto that bowl
The whole truth sketched, so
I took a cup and drank from it
And then,
And then
I trod in dog shit.
