Pivotal.
I stand beneath the sky's
Murky fist
I watch it pass
Clenched and unbroken
Like I was once.
I have been many things
And I have been only one.
The sun tidies away
cold shadows
I feel the warmth
Of expectancy's pause;
I'll wait until I'm called.
I have seen far too much
And I have much more to see.
On the surface of leaves,
Sunlight rests,
Tomorrow it'll
Sparkle and glisten,
I'm familiar with this flux;
I send away my soul at night
And I breathe it in at first light.
I'm no longer a diffident heart
And I'm no longer afraid of the dark.
