love
crops up in the dampest funniest places
sprayed
everywhere and love always was silent
eating into me
like a million bank notes falling
flecked against the air for just one special person
3 little words
are not enough
and
YOU MUST ANSWER ME
what the world needs now
it's my style of common sense
fun fur tongue
ruins all the best jokes in history
shaves the armpit of desire
from the moment I put my first book down
and looked out through different eyes
ok it's sad but if i could not cry
how would i know our love was true?
he smiled across at me in the crowded
room hey baby you can light my fire
snake insists through the short striped lawn of marital bliss
I love you so remember this
every time you kiss another
I was your first most only
lover
waiting in the damp air
bus never arrived
for two centuries I sighed
all for future love
to carry me from the dry desert to the mountains
which ooze sweet pus into the sea
with lunar regularity
true love
was there ever any other kind?
(I do not want to only ever think of scabs)
although we could sense that we were naked
though we dressed our wounded flesh immediately
afterwards
in vinegar brown paper boiled-up bacon rind
though age and experience
has served me up the lie of innocence again
You were always on my mind
