Every Tuesday it might rain
Or it might be sunny
But there she stood
Selling her Big Issue for money

She stood there four days
Out of five
Selling the Big Issue
To people like me

One week she wasn't there
And she wasn't there the next
And then she was there again
And I bought my issue

And I asked her where she'd been
And she said she'd been ill
then depressed
I said I was sorry
To hear that
And spent my one pound twenty

She stood there again
And then one week she was gone
She hasn't been there since
Although
I look for her every Tuesday
Every week
With Less and Less Hope
