Suppose...

Suppose we all were of another form
that no innate human character shows
or such dignified trait that is the norm.
Imagine we are mucous gunk that flows
and smells and has some gritty bits that grate
for teeth and ugly lumps for nose and eyes;
but still we have our wants and needs to sate
and all together dwell and share our lives.
Would we adore and love? In complement
remark of Jane 'how gracefully she runs'?
Or Ben, my son, 'of such impressive brawn'?
Would we be weighed with great discouragement,
or still be vain and pride for pride return?
Or laze about until the day is gone?
