T~ Between Two Rooms

Between two rooms you stand alone,
each doorway promises new light.
I stand at the end of the crowded passage,
holding back the tears I don't want to fight.
Your heart is straining towards my own
but your eyes keep looking straight.
Forgetting the light that was so dark before,
I reach for you with unashamed hate.
You look to me and your gaze stays fixed,
the hole in the ceiling gapes down on you.
My hate disappears under your desperate love,
tumbling into bottomless pale toxic blue.
The walls turn white with blinding light
but there's dark where the love wont reach.
The tears are bought to my eyes this time
as you throw into the rooms a heart each.
I take your hand and pull you away for now,
my heart is still young but my heart is full-grown.
I'll always be standing in the passage when
between two rooms you stand alone.
