TEACHER

You dispensed your wisdom to me,
while I defied so many thoughts.
Have I sacrificed just one lesson,
or neglected all you taught?

Did I keep your words within me,
when I was left to fend alone?
Will I care for their importance,
once I make a brand new home?

And will I speak those words so freely,
to my children just the same.
Hoping they will listen to me,
and carry on my father's name.
