The Weird Egg

One blazing day Tom, a boy from Austria, went on holiday to a hotel
called 'Hotel Harmony'. There he met his friend Milly.

When they went up to their rooms, on the bed was a red, spotted egg
that had hatched out. On the concrete floor stood a brown puppy with a
green and yellow cloth in his mouth. When they got over the shock they
knelt down to see some writing on his collar. It said 'Chip'.

"Chip", said Milly. "What does that mean? Perhaps it is his
name".

The two children tied it and found out that it was his name. They also
found out that he was under a spell which could be broken by following
clues.

A sunny morning followed and they set off to find the first clue. It
didn't take long. They came to a cave and there, on the door, was a
clue.

"What does it mean?"

"I wonder!"

"I wonder too"

"Oh well, let's go.

The children set off to find the second clue. This took longer than
last time. They went through a dark, gloomy tunnel which was spooky.
The tunnel led into a huge hallway inside the castle. On the wall
beside the stairs hung a massive portrait of a translucent serpent. His
hand was pointing up the stairs. The children flowed the finger. When
they arrived at the head of the stairs they found the second clue. They
read:

Go to the music room

A piano you will find

Play the notes A B G C F D E

Chant the words that you see

And Chip will stay for all eternity

The children ran to the music room. They played the notes on a golden
grand piano. The chant was revealed.

Spooky spell let Chip go

Spooky spell leave chip alone.

Chip stayed happy and content with the children from that day
onwards.
