SO CIVILISED &; SPORTING OF YOU, SIR!
Queensbury made boxing 'Gentlemen's' sport',
And many fighters have died in the ring
To prove it. The 'Gent', also issued court
Proceedings against Oscar Wilde, raising
'Sodomite' charges against the playwright
Which meant 'outing' his own son, Lord Alfred
In the process. That's hardly a fair fight .
His son got no respect from Dad's homestead.
The Marquis De Sade was less sadistic
Than one who put prejudice before love.
Given the choice should Alfred not pick
Wisdom and laughter over boxing glove?
So he slept with Wilde at some secret den -
Beats being bashed senseless by 'Gentlemen'.
