Sonnet for Mona (was she a goer&;#063;) Lisa

Da Vinci chewed his palette knife and shook
a little in his shoes as Mona stood
in front of him and fixed him with that look
which said that if he wanted to, he could.
For Lisa was a goer, so they said,
and Mona was a good name for her too,
Da Vinci was relieved he'd moved the bed
for use in his 'men only' studio.
Lisa saw the sweat on Leo's brow
and wondered how much longer she should play
as after all, she'd guessed some time ago
his Dolce Vita veered the other way.
She thought she'd keep him guessing for a while
and so was born her enigmatic smile.
