Hi, my name is Joe.
I spend my life on the street.
Sleeping in the snow
And looking for stuff to eat.
"Come here little boy,
I'll feed you and we can play
Grownup games. Aw, don't be coy
And run away, my name is Ray."
It's men like him I have to watch
They lurk, always hiding in the dark
Looking for us just to grab our crotch
That's why I don't go in the park.
Daddy run away and left us alone
And mother didn't care bout us anymore
Just drinking and smoking and being gone
Til the people come and they was sore.
The government place they put us all
Was a mean and dirty place with bars and
Caused little Ginny to pucker up and bawl
And I busted out next day just like I planned.
And I'm here, where you see me now,
It ain't so bad, us urchins are a family, we are,
We look after each other and share our chow
And tomorrow we gonna steal us a car.
Hi, my name is Joe.
I spend my life on the street.
Sleeping in the snow
And looking for stuff to eat.
