What goes around, comes around
Or so it is said
You've made it yourself
So lie in your bed
The example we've set
In bygone days
Can we now condemn them
When they use our old ways.

We've murdered, we've tortured them
Sold them as Slaves
Plundered their lands
Condemned them to caves
Created waste lands
Where civilisations once stood
Watched them die in their millions
'Twas for their own good.

We've stolen their riches
Left them with nowt
We've lied to, we've cheated them
From their homes, burnt them out
We've broken all promises
Unmoved by their plight
So is it now, no wonder
They've started to fight.

It is not our fault
What was done in the past
Let not the sins of the father
On our heads, be cast
We send them our pennies
As they starve on our Tele's
The old, the infirm
The young with fat bellies.

Yet we take millions of dollars
Their countries too arm
Watch them killing each other
They're doing us no harm
We're still making money
As we bankrupt their State
The only lesson we're teaching
Is the lesson of hate.

We greet their dictators
When they fight on our side
Though they torture and murder
Our faces we hide
They line their own pockets
While their people suffer and die
As long as they back us
We turn a blind eye.

But now the worm's turned
As they start to hit back
Throw us off, of their lands
Our Cities attack
Demand a fair price
For their minerals and oil
They want to be masters,
Kings of their own soil.

So what do we do
We engage them in war
Aren't we the Great Nations
Bombing the Poor
We hit them with Sanctions
Watch their children die
As we in the west
Eat the lions share of the pie.

If only the money
We spend on our bombs
Was used to educate them
And rebuild their homes
Put food on their table
Their dignity to find
It might help heal their wounds
In their bodies and mind.
