The Hurting
By Bubo
- 430 reads
Minutes, hours, nights, days
Denied the spark in your greenness
Reflecting in mine
Subtleness of breath against my neck
As I take you in
Strength of your weight lying inside
Salty tears cover me from your eyes
Many past mistakes as we tore it apart
But couldn’t break the fine thread
Weaving through our angry hearts
Why do I feel for you?
As you careen through my blighted life
Imagining your fixing a soul
That didn’t need fixing at all.
Wandering room to room
Shadowing ghost of you
I can’t stop thinking
You were sent to me
Be it right or wrong.
I pray
Be strong baby
Air feels so empty
With you gone today.
Marked history in albums of photographs
I weep seeing that smile meant for me
Heavy heart knows
Tonight we face stars alone
I am serving a life sentence
Behind bars of sorrow.
Safer to let you go if only
You had not stolen
My heart
I multi task
Clean house a hundred times
Spinning
Trapped in rays of sunlight
When I just want to hide in the dark.
Clamber inside me
I carry you to my detriment
Sing while you slumber there
Shed the hazy poison laced
In the pores of your heart.
The hurting
I’ll be the donor cleansing
While we serve time mending
Pieces of us
Desperately separating our fate
Entwined
I fear missing you
Will last a life time.
