I Wear a Size 5

I wear a size 5
Assortments upon my back
Carried with pride,
No wedding ring
Binds me to man,
My empty womb remains swollen
Still, after all this time
With life
Your eyes fail to see,
But heart beats eternally
Inside warmest of suns
Living in fields of paradise.
I wear a size 5
Assortments upon my back
Carried with pride.
I have no money
Blistering my palms
Or motorcars polluting my earth
Or shrewd heels to stretch me
Escaping reality in sinful giving,
Never been fucked
For less than love
But simply to turn
And give love in return
Still,
Some did not reach my soul
Or completely violate me,
In trickery to mould a shape
That did not become me,
For seasons gathered in tempo
Carried time rushing ahead
Slightly marred to better days
Where I rose, dusted off the hurt
And marched stubbornly on.
I wear a size 5
Assortments upon my back
Carried with pride
Indeed sometimes life
Is a collision course
Of hurt, pain and ripping lies,
But enveloped in God's love
My sizes 5’s tread
All paths of life
Climbing colossal mountains,
Always learning new footholds
To push me forward
Up that steep path,
On a long journey
That is mine to write.
Never-the-less,
Words might bleed on filled pages
Smudged in disillusionment
Where tears have fallen despairingly
Blotting out the starry night
But, it is mine
I carry it with pride
Walking in my size 5’s.
