Let's Talk Soul

Do I return to the cocoon of the womb?
To find it, wrestle that part free
Stuff it back inside of me
While I stumble on this journey
Or should I seek it under my skin
Buried in every sinewy tissue swelling
With the squeezing of fresh liquid red
Screaming for release breaking free
Should I call it?
Maybe it has with time become deaf
Tragically cut into pieces when the devil fed
Scattered now fumbling in anxiety
Waiting to be delivered healed.
Does it lie on the outside?
Covering flesh in consciences
Prodding thoughts into tricky brain
Training God’s word as head tilts
Listening intently crying
Will it find me in sleep?
Soothing patterns distorted
Hush trembling heart that sighs
Kiss flickering of eyes a flutter
With memories of longing and pleasures
Or is it a fine silk thread
Traveling through planet earth
Binding beating heart to others
Intricately sewing seeds in life
Imprinting my heritage in genes
Of birth I pushed into world.
What is a soul?
How do we keep it intact?
Does it float above guiding?
Or cling to us invisibly sublime?
If it is battered, shattered or lost to love
Will it return healed after talking to the Lord?
A vital principle, an energy
Unique to one, it is what we make it.
Let's do some soul searching.
