Soul Vacation

Traveled far and wide,
Forty three odd years
Started in land of air,
Earth
Tree roots, flower shoots,
Grass blades, ball of intense heat,
Drifting clouds, April showers,
Water beds, met great friends,
Decided it was not enough
To satisfy my soul.
Took giant step to
Neptune
God of seas, ruler of Pisces,
Eighth planet from sun, catch icy
Cold breath, encircled in blue hue,
Shrieking wind blasted me to
Pluto
Small, tiniest of all,
Scorpio, no longer rising,
Soul mates with Pisces.
Shook hands with Hades,
Not a nice man, this
God of underworld, surprised
A visitor should so grace in first step.
Took enormous leap to
Uranus
First supreme God
Will he show me heaven
Or wondrous open sky?
Hidden as magnificent shining star,
Spinning rings bright, so fast,
Watched magnified from earth,
Clouds blow rapidly, blew me to
Sun
Apollo, son of Zeus, shot arrows of light
Insight, beautiful music,
Rock, dance, forgot sunglasses.
Largest molten rock, Rising.
4.6 billion years old, another five billion left,
And then, you ask, what?
Eventually enraged fire bursts,
Will swallow lost earth,
Become a star, mingle with others
Superior in name, white dwarf.
No choice, I fled frantically to
Mars
Angry, roaring red,
God of war not happy at all,
But oh so small, mountains high,
Rift valleys, ridges, hills and plains,
None visible to eye, except mine.
Swam in large lakes, oceans,
Becoming frozen, walked for miles, to smile
At another perhaps, so cold,
Loneliness sadden my heart
No mouth to touch, or laughter, so crept to
Mercury
Star child, rests beside sun
One side day melts all,
Other side, flip coin, lies
Black night, arctic, raw and bleak.
Fall into craters, crashed from all sides,
Objects struck with almighty force,
Hid, spinning, dodging the lot,
Swift messenger of God
Descended, flung me off to
Venus
Born of sea and sky,
Love, beauty, bright, vast.
Morning, evening Star you are,
True lover of God Mars,
Stood upon by human man,
Lulls sleeplessly, see tangible life, but dry.
Thirst, wonderful as you are, depart to
Jupiter
Zeus, leader of gods,
Thunder, rain, cause of all elements,
Hurricanes, storms, bolts of lightening,
Gaining heavens, brother underworld, Hades.
I fear I won’t last, hot, crouched
Rumbling of volcano erupting, I rush to
Saturn
Traveling rings of glory, light,
Spins magestically, many moons linger inside,
Storms as wide as earth, instills colossal fear,
Carried a sickle as your symbol, fertile seeds,
Mother Nature still yet to be heard,
God of land rants, race, I’ve seen enough,
Flat, bubbles of white at a glance, I jump.
Catch shooting stars, spin between constellations,
Soar right through Milky Way, ghosts give chase,
Explode, sweep past gods, moons, rocks,
World of mystery with orbits of magic,
Waving goodbye, revived, alive, returning
For I cannot, but rest in the arms of my love.
Back in the atmosphere, floating, rotating,
Crashing, where he waits with my heart.
