Unseen Affair

It was so good being out of the house, away from her mother who insisted on breathing down her neck every five minutes like an incessant wasp, tracing prickly circles around her shoulder.
“Shouldn’t you be revising, your exams start next week!?”
Nag, nag, nag.
The constant alarm in her voice reminding her of a road drill.
Her mother was driving her nuts.
Rebecca pulled hard on her cigarette, crossing her long, smooth legs in to a more flattering position.
The nightclub was heaving, bodies collectively moving to a frantic pace, odour of perspiration strong in the air, mingled with heavy smoke and the smell of spilt alcohol.
Strobe lights of rainbow colours bounced off walls, climbing to the ceiling in rhythm of the thumping beat.
Rebecca loved it.
The freedom, the atmosphere, and the male attention.
It beat sitting at home dwindling her thumbs.
She wriggled her denim skirt down, not that it made a difference. It was indecently short, and had been borrowed from her best friend Clare, who had disappeared somewhere half an hour ago.
But that was fine with Rebecca.
She pouted her lips shining with a layer of heavy lip gloss. She swung her heavy mane of sun kissed blonde hair over her shoulder, watching the reactions from a group of lads on the next table. She wasn’t disappointed.
Her eyes, the colour of emeralds sparkled knowingly as she turned away.
Tomorrow she would be seventeen.
She hoped her Mum had bought her the suede coat she had asked for. Her Mum had also promised her Reading Festival tickets, should she do well in her exams. Rebecca was bright enough, and had been predicted straight A’s.
Mum had also relented and she was having a party at home next saturday, the bonus being no adults present. Of course, Mum had set certain conditions and rules that read like the weekly shopping list, all of which Rebecca had agreed to. Kind of.
Seventeen! She smiled. Life was good.
At the bar Joseph was buying her a drink.
He seemed a nice lad, polite, good looking, plenty to talk about. Rebecca liked the fact he wasn’t all over her, gushing compliments in the hope she would be an easy lay. Rebecca had never been laid, and had no intentions of getting laid until she felt the time was right for her.
Joseph was a few years older than her, twenty three Rebecca recalled, car, money and a job in I.T.
She had already decided to invite him to her party next weekend, and she was sure he wouldn’t turn her down. Rebecca knew her friends would be impressed by Joseph, he wasn't the average pimply teen, that was for sure!
He talked to her as if she was someone important, as if her opinion mattered, not as if he was after one thing like most of the males who congregated in clubs.
They had been chatting for about an hour when he offered to buy her a drink. Rebecca accepted. Clare had made an excuse, disappearing into the throng of bodies to dance.
Joseph couldn’t believe his luck. She was gorgeous! He closed his eyes briefly, picturing her long legs wrapped around his neck as he tasted her. How her pert breasts would feel against his mouth, her nipples ripe and hard as he eased his tongue over them. The thought almost gave him an erection, the vision of her body naked across his bed as he buried himself inside her, caused his heart to race a little faster.
She had swallowed the story about his job, the money and all the bullshit he could feed her. She was lapping it up.
He glanced over, catching those delicious eyes watching him. He smiled. She smiled back.
“This is going to be one hell of a night” he thought.
Turning around he carefully placed his hand over the top of her vodka glass, and dropped the little white pill into the liquid, where it dissolved rapidly to become unseen.
Picking up the glasses he sauntered back to Rebecca, smiling.
“Oh yes, one hell of a night”
As he placed her drink in front of her.
