Two Ironies
(i)
If quietly you undressed
and climbed in beside me
to take my hand or feel my pulse,
relay the information later
that sex is a fun sort of game -
anywhere we might begin
and always end in the same place -

who you are.
(ii)

and your faint flush of desire

which leave me cold
or crazed with clothes
and never skin
I wonder why
